Why Volunteer?

There are many different reasons why people choose to volunteer. Most of our international volunteers want a more rich experience then the typical holiday experience: they want to immerse themselves in a new culture; they want to make a difference outside of their home countries; they want  to live and work alongside local people; they act out of concern  for the environment; ...

No matter what your motivation and background is, we will assist you in finding the perfect volunteering project!

If you have any concerns or questions, we’re always happy to hear from you

Hands On Manila

Hands On Manila has worked with thousands of volunteers since 2001. Our volunteers are locals and foreigners (travelers and ex-pats). Initially all of our service projects were located within Metro Manila (the bigger Manila area). In recent years we have extended our reach to projects outside of the capital area. We are committed to providing interested volunteers with meaningful service projects all over the Philippines.

Partner Organizations

We are able to offer our volunteers diverse service projects through a network of locally based partner organizations. In close cooperation with our partners we identify project sites that will receive high impact from volunteer contributions.

The Volunteer

In our opinion, a good volunteer project is beneficial to the community and to the volunteer. We design our programs with the needs of both our partner and the volunteer in mind. All of our volunteers receive a personal orientation and our programs are designed to be fun and a learning experience for the volunteers.

Why should I volunteer in the Philippines?

The Philippines faces some very serious issues: a high level of poverty, air and water pollution, … As a volunteer in the Philippines, you will be able to make a real difference with your contribution.

The Philippines is renowned as one of the most beautiful countries in the world. You will be enchanted by the warmth and hospitality of the Filipinos! Since almost all Filipinos speak English well (English is an official language), you will have no problems to talk to the people in the communities.
